Success Stories
DID YOU HEAR THE ONE ABOUT THE……..
A guy walks into a bar ……… is the usual start to this kind of story, except this is no joke. It's a story about three adorable, loving, gentle pets that have been an integral part of a Toronto family
for 15 years.
The family sold their farm and turned to STUFF Canada to find a new home for their loyal companions. For those who have ever had to leave a family pet, you can empathize with the
traumatic effects this can have on the family dynamics, leaving the family with a sense of great loss.
But there was a catch; the family placed three conditions on the donation to minimize their grief:
- the 3 pets needed to have the same home
- the new home needed to be a reasonable driving distance from Toronto
- the family requested visiting privileges.
Unusual? Not if your pets happen to be two miniature horses and a donkey!
Now where do you send your family pets to be nurtured? Where can you be assured they will be well cared for in a loving
environment, just like the only home they have ever known?
Well, STUFF Canada discovered that Tim Hortons Onondaga Farm has a new camp and farm facility that opened in June 2002 on over 400
acres of rolling hills and wetlands near St. George, Ontario. Home to 576 residential campers and 384 Youth Leadership participants each summer, campers can explore wetland ecology, beekeeping, bird
watching, composting, renewable energy sources, farming fundamentals, astronomy and other traditional camp activities such as crafts, sports and games, overnight camping and more! Wow! This place is
to live for!
So, did you hear the one about two horses and a donkey finding a new loving home together? Now they are looking forward to meeting all the kids who will be spending part of
this summer on Tim Hortons Onondaga Farm. This is the magical kind of "stuff" that challenges STUFF Canada - and we love happy endings!
